He received his MS degree in applied mathematics and computer in 1999, and his PhD from Media and Games Innovation Centre of Excellence (MaGIC-X) in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2013. He has completed a Post Doctoral in Augmented Reality at UTM in 2014. Previously he worked as a Senior Lecturer in Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Currently, he is a Senior Lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University and a Visiting Professor at Bharath Institute of Higher Education and Research: BIHER, Chennai, India. He has published numerous articles in international journals, conference proceedings and technical papers, including chapters in books. He is an active member of IEEE and TCP of several conferences and international journals. He has also published many books in object-oriented programming and mathematics. His research interests include Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality. He has been invited as a keynote speaker at many prestigious international conferences and delivered the guest lecture at the highly-reputed institutions. |

PROFESSOR JUNAID QADIRProfessor at Information Technology University, Lahore, Pakistan Speech Title: Safe and Trustworthy Artificial IntelligenceBiography: Prof. Junaid Qadir is the Chairperson of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Information Technology University (ITU) of Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He is the director of the IHSAN Lab. Before joining ITU in December 2015, he was associated with the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (SEECS) of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) for more than 7 years. He completed his Ph.D. from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia, in 2008, and Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, Pakistan. He has published more than 100 peer-reviewed articles at various high-quality research venues including more than 50 impact-factor journal publications at top international research journals including IEEE Communication Magazine, IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communication (JSAC), IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials (CST), and IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing (TMC). He is a senior member of IEEE and ACM and has been appointed as an ACM Distinguished Speaker (2020 to 2022). |
