Program Structure
A 7-month intensive COOP experience at AIDA Lab
7-Month COOP Program
This accelerated program combines hands-on project work with specialized training to deliver market-ready skills in AI and cybersecurity:
Month 1
Orientation & Training
CIntensive onboarding in Python, ML fundamentals, and cybersecurity frameworks. Project team assignments.
Months 2-5
Project Execution
Full-time work on AIDA Lab research projects with weekly mentorship sessions and progress reviews.
Month 6
Specialized Training
Advanced workshops in AI applications, threat modeling, and research methodologies.
Month 7
Project Finalization
Deliver project outcomes, present findings to stakeholders, and complete program evaluations.
Eligibility Requirements
- CCIS major in Computer Science, AI, or Data Science
- Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
- Completion of core coursework by start of program
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to full-time work during work terms

Yes, all co-op positions are paid employment. Salaries vary by employer and position but are typically competitive with entry-level professional positions in the field.
The standard co-op sequence adds 7 months to your academic program ( 5 years).
Students in the CCIS Co-op Program at AIDA Lab can work on cutting-edge AI and data science projects, including: ML, NLP, Image Processing and Data science
Students receive comprehensive support including resume and interview preparation, access to exclusive job postings, ongoing mentorship during work terms, and academic advising to coordinate work and study schedules.
While placement rates are high (over 90%), students who don't secure a position can continue with regular academic study and reapply for the next co-op cycle without penalty.
